I promised, and so I shall deliver. ^^

To Begin! Some Gen!fic things. =3

Title: Handful of Bad Luck
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kenzimone
Rating: R
Warnings: Violence? Minor canon references that may or may not be spoilers (nothing spoilery for canon plots, anyway).
Why the Rec? This right here is why Gen!Fic exists. To showcase things like how awesome Eliot is. By... nearly drowning him. A lot. ...Well. >.> Anyway, Eliot is Batman, but you already knew that. <3
Link: http://typings.livejournal.com/14080.html

Title: The Boat Job (WIP)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] littlefairy78
Rating: T
Warnings: Language, violence. Whumpage.
Why the Rec? Gen fic that could edge into Eliot/Hardison territory if you squint sideways (so, very much like the show, in that respect... *g* ). Plenty of both Eliot!whumpage and Eliot!MoarAwesomeThanYouEveryone, which is just my kind of fic. It's unfortunately still a work in progress, but one which I am looking forward to more of. A lot. The prologue and first three chapters are currently published. If any of you are WIP-phobic, I'll be glad to let you know when this one gets finished. ^^
Link: http://littlefairy78.livejournal.com/5512.html

Title: The Joy of Cooking
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ljemanja
Rating: T
Warnings: Minor spoilers for The Wedding Job, set post-S1.
Why the Rec? Eliot-centric team!fic with cooking. Also, Parker is great in this! *bounces happily* I'm going to be re-reading this one a lot, I think. ^^
Link: http://ijemanja.livejournal.com/109303.html

Title: We're All Mad Here
Author: [livejournal.com profile] entangled_now
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Nah.
Why the Rec? Slice-of-Life fic, in which Eliot is surrounded by crazy people. =)
Link: http://community.livejournal.com/libraryofsol/83993.html

Title: Samson Ain't Got Nothing On Eliot
Author: [livejournal.com profile] snookscribbles
Rating: G
Warnings:
Why the Rec? Short, sweet, and lulz. All about Eliot's hair. <3
Link: http://snookscribbles.livejournal.com/27131.html

Be warned! From here on out, it's Eliot/Hardison all the way, bbs! <3

Title: Bad Habits and Dumb Luck
Author: [livejournal.com profile] laceymcbain
Rating: PG
Warnings: General series spoilers, Eliot abuse. =3
Why the Rec? And here we enter the slashy stuff, wherein everyone learns that I'm an Eliot/Hardison shipper. No, seriously. I ship it like burning. *ahem* Anyway, it's laceymcbain writing Eliot/Hardison fic with actual plot and everything! \0/
Link: http://laceymcbain.livejournal.com/238358.html

Title: Sweet Time
Author: [livejournal.com profile] facetofcathy
Rating: MA
Warnings: Porn. But with plot! ...Sort of. >.>
Why the Rec? See the warnings. Okay, okay, I'll be good. I like the ... morning-ness... of this fic. It's set in the morning, and it feels like morning. Also, the porn is just the right shade of hot, and also, I love Eliot. For many reasons, but also because he's actually quite sweet. ^^ Provided you don't, y'know, get on his bad side. XD
Link: http://facetofcathy.livejournal.com/55853.html

Title: The Way to a Man's Heart
Author: [livejournal.com profile] merle_p
Rating: R
Warnings: Nothing to worry about. Mentions of violence and sex.
Why the Rec? So. Um... I might have this kink for Chef!Eliot. A little. *ahem* >.> Anyway, this fulfills both my Chef!Eliot kink and my permanent squee for all things Eliot/Hardison, and it does it with style. <3
Link: http://merle-p.livejournal.com/9414.html

Title: Wherever the hell Bolivia is
Author: [livejournal.com profile] merle_p
Rating: R
Warnings: Sex & Violence. (I'm growing rather fond of this fandom... =3 )
Why the Rec? This one's got some nice character insights, and the parallel structure of the paragraphs in each section is very nicely executed.

In other news, I need Leverage icons. >.>

The comm is [livejournal.com profile] geteven_getfic. ^^

And yeah, there's a lot of het. And tragically little Eliot/Hardison! T_T People seem to ship Nate/Eliot for no reason that I can fathom other than that pool-playing scene early on in the show. And the fact that everyone is shippy together. But, y'know, Eliot/Hardison, people!! *makes vague hand gestures* Anyway, I will totally have to write some fic or something. Maybe after we finish our watch-through. ^^

Oooh, are you liking the Dresden files?? I just picked up Turn Coat, so I'm totally in a Dresden mood today. =3

(Btw, go join [livejournal.com profile] mafiabanter now. ;D )

Yeah. Too much het. And it means that making Leverage friends is going to be hard... because I don't really want to hear about Nate/Sophie, even if I totally ship it. I noticed all the Nate/Eliot too. It hurt my feelings. I don't really understand it either. At all. ELIOT/HARDISON PEOPLE!! And I will write stuff if you will write stuff!

I am loving Dresden files. And nomnoming it right up. Because you know how I am with shiny new fandoms. *tries to look innocent*

*blinks* I didn't realize that was the ship of choice.

Hee. And Dresden is very, very shiny, 'tis true. =D

Well, there are multiple ships of choice in the Dresden-verse. In the books, people ship Harry/Murphy (yes, het, but Murph's cool, so I'll let them get away with it), plenty of Harry/Thomas (which is totally understandable once you get to that bit *shuts up for now*), some Harry/Butters (not from South Park; you'll meet him later). And in the TV!verse, people ship Harry/Bob (Jim Butcher was horrified to learn of this ship until frantic fans qualified it with "TV-verse! TV-verse!!", which I think is the best anecdote in slash fandom history. They managed to scare the author into thinking everyone was into skullfucking, with a literal skull. LULZ, I say.) ...I don't actually know if people ship Harry/Michael. Hm. There's also some other random het, I'm sure. But the big ones are Harry/Murphy, Harry/Thomas, Harry/Bob (TV!verse), and our little Harry/Marcone ship. ^^

I loves me the Harry/Marcone. Because it's hot shit. And also they're awesome together. And also, [livejournal.com profile] bookshop ships it, and I have not, thus far, ever found Aja to be wrong about... anything. =3 And [livejournal.com profile] thehoyden writes fic for it, so you know it can't be bad!

But yeah. I totally ship Harry/Marcone, but do feel free to ship whatever you like. I just encourage my own ships, especially in small fandoms. Because... well. <3?

Hee - I didn'y know that. I tend to ship Bob/Harry a bit in the TV-verse myself, although I only wrote one fic which was very heavily episode driven. I was awfully fond of the actor who played Morgan on the TV series, though. I could ship that Morgan/Harry.

In the books, I'm very very fond of Thomas, but I don't really ship anyone in particular.

I think more and more, though, that I need to write a book like Butcher writes rather than the literary stuff I do because honestly, the other stuff is way more fun.

I do sort of love the whole Bob/Harry dynamic in the TV-verse myself. ^^

And how did I forget the Harry/Morgan shippers!! *smacks self* This is what I get for doing a ship rundown at nearly 2AM. XD

I love Thomas so much. I desperately need to track down a copy of Backup, since I don't have it yet, which secures my place as a Very Lame Person. T_T

I just wish I could come up with characters and a plot that would be anywhere near interesting enough to be worth writing a book about. All my ideas hover somewhere in that uncomfortable space between short story and novel, and refuse to develop proper plots. :\

Me too, to be honest. I'm just eternally hopeful I'll figure it out.

And sorry for sort of hanging out in your LJ so much tonight, but with everyone departing for dreamwidth, and everything else ... well, it was like a cozy couch parked in the corner. (But I'll let you get to bed, and me too!) But anytime you want to talk Leverage, I'm your girl. *hugs*

(Oh, Backup was pretty good. Have you also read "The Warrior" - a short story, novella really, in "Mean Streets"? The shorter pieces don't have the depth of the novels, but they do add to the world, and Back-up was all about Thomas!)

Hey, no worries! Everybody is always welcome to come camp out on my journal anytime. *hugs*

Admittedly, I'm planning to move to Dreamwidth, too, but I'll be crossposting and with so many communities that I'm so attached to still being over here, I'll continue to be around LJ a lot. (I think that's going to be the case with a lot of people, when everything shakes out.)

I haven't read the short stories. T_T I think when I was getting into the Dresden Files I was a bit short on cash, so I just bought the books and skipped the anthologies, but I really should get those... >.>

'Night! Good luck with your meeting!

Oh, I wasn't doubting your ability to pick a ship I'll like. I've just only read up to the bit in the car. Now that I'm *thinking* about it more I can totally see it. Of course I'll probably try and keep myself from OTPing anyone until I've actually, you know, read a couple. lol.

Oh, I didn't think you were! No worries. And really, you have to get further in the series before Marcone proves how consistently AWESOME he is, so. (Dresden is one of those things that I don't really freak out and OTP over or anything. I could just read the books and be perfectly content; the little bit of Dresden/Marcone fandom that exists is just an extra treat, really. =3 )

But yes! Read the books, then pick your ships! This is the way to go. =D

*cuddles you* We will watch more, I promise! We're up to like, The Miracle Job, which is awesome, so just you TRY to pry me away! *clings to Show*

Oh, hey. Totally random conversation change, but... Do you want to go out and do nice dinner on Sunday night? Or do you have some night free next week? I never did the whole Nice Dinner birthday thing, and my Dad's paying but he wants to send the reimbursement with my Mom when she comes out to help with my move, so I actually need to, um... do that. Relatively soon. XD You interested in hitting up Cheesecake Factory or something?

*cuddles you back* Yes. It's just so shiny, you know. And it has like... no angst. I realized today that I love the characters and plot and dialogue and no one is doing a dance of sadness on my heart. It feels weird.

I'm all yours baby. Seriously though, aside from class or whatever on week nights I don't do much. As you might have noticed. My boss even tried to get me to babysit tomorrow night but I told her I had plans. Go me! Even if I would have refused your lovely offer, MishMish's soulful eyes in your icon would have convinced me!

...This is true! I hadn't really thought about it, but you're right! Wow. But yeah, thinking about it, I get my angst-fix in the fic, wherein Eliot gets the crap beat out of him and Hardison worries but Eliot's all 'fuck them, I've had worse, finish the job' and then they get to safety and have lots of sex the end. XD

Yay! In that case... Hm. Are you free Tuesday night next week? I know you'll be over for most of Monday anyway, but I figure if we pick Tuesday or Wednesday to do the dinner thing, then you're back over here on Thursday, which means we will not be cruelly separated for very long next week. XD ...And then my mom is going to show up and I'm not gonna see you for, like, a week or something...unless I can con my mom into taking us out to eat somewhere or something... >.> *ponders this* Still, y'know, my mom, but w/e. Free food would be worth mom!presence.

Ha. In SPN fandom our show is angst and we turn to fic to make it all better. In Leverage we do the opposite, except it's still less depressing. I can live with that.

I can meet you after class Tuesday. Like 8ish? Truthfully this week was awful because I saw you like once. My soul was desolate. So breaking up the week a little sounds like an ace idea to me. You put up with my family for an *entire weekend*. I think I could handle dinner with your mom. ESPECIALLY SINCE I'M NOT SURE I CAN GO A WEEKEND WITHOUT YOU. WHO WILL I FANGIRL WITH?!?

So, I DESPERATELY need to go to bed RIGHT NOW, but yes, meeting up on Tuesday would work just fine. ^^ And LIKEWISE. I was sitting in those stupid meetings today being all, This is boring. And Rory's not even coming over tonight. This day is Total Fail. T_T But we're meeting up tomorrow, so yayz!! The week will be muchly improved! =D

And clearly, then, I will have to convince my mother that she wants to feed us. =3

WHY AREN'T YOU ALREADY ASLEEP?!?!

Tuesday. Got it.

Today completely sucked for me (see my LJ for boring details) and it was all the worse because I actually had to *come back here* after class. Very boring. And no SPN or Leverage or Due South or your lovely company.

Just comment or call and let me know what time tomorrow. And I'll try not to waste away with boredom.

I've barely started it, but I'm so in awe of Jim Butcher's ability to start the main plot in like, paragraph TWO and then keep it awesome and suspenseful for the whole book.

... *crosses fingers that Marcone shows up and does something awesome in this one*
