omg. it's like you knew how bored i was. i forgot whatever com you directed me to the other day, and everything i found was kind of bleh looking and with a lot of het. and like everything had spoilers for the finale which i am sort of trying to avoid. which is weird for me. in conclusion, i mostly spent tonight reading the first hundred pages of dresden files and watching lost recaps.

And yeah, there's a lot of het. And tragically little Eliot/Hardison! T_T People seem to ship Nate/Eliot for no reason that I can fathom other than that pool-playing scene early on in the show. And the fact that everyone is shippy together. But, y'know, Eliot/Hardison, people!! *makes vague hand gestures* Anyway, I will totally have to write some fic or something. Maybe after we finish our watch-through. ^^

Oooh, are you liking the Dresden files?? I just picked up Turn Coat, so I'm totally in a Dresden mood today. =3

Yeah. Too much het. And it means that making Leverage friends is going to be hard... because I don't really want to hear about Nate/Sophie, even if I totally ship it. I noticed all the Nate/Eliot too. It hurt my feelings. I don't really understand it either. At all. ELIOT/HARDISON PEOPLE!! And I will write stuff if you will write stuff!

I am loving Dresden files. And nomnoming it right up. Because you know how I am with shiny new fandoms. *tries to look innocent*

Well, there are multiple ships of choice in the Dresden-verse. In the books, people ship Harry/Murphy (yes, het, but Murph's cool, so I'll let them get away with it), plenty of Harry/Thomas (which is totally understandable once you get to that bit *shuts up for now*), some Harry/Butters (not from South Park; you'll meet him later). And in the TV!verse, people ship Harry/Bob (Jim Butcher was horrified to learn of this ship until frantic fans qualified it with "TV-verse! TV-verse!!", which I think is the best anecdote in slash fandom history. They managed to scare the author into thinking everyone was into skullfucking, with a literal skull. LULZ, I say.) ...I don't actually know if people ship Harry/Michael. Hm. There's also some other random het, I'm sure. But the big ones are Harry/Murphy, Harry/Thomas, Harry/Bob (TV!verse), and our little Harry/Marcone ship. ^^

I loves me the Harry/Marcone. Because it's hot shit. And also they're awesome together. And also, bookshop ships it, and I have not, thus far, ever found Aja to be wrong about... anything. =3 And thehoyden writes fic for it, so you know it can't be bad!

But yeah. I totally ship Harry/Marcone, but do feel free to ship whatever you like. I just encourage my own ships, especially in small fandoms. Because... well. <3?

Hee - I didn'y know that. I tend to ship Bob/Harry a bit in the TV-verse myself, although I only wrote one fic which was very heavily episode driven. I was awfully fond of the actor who played Morgan on the TV series, though. I could ship that Morgan/Harry.

In the books, I'm very very fond of Thomas, but I don't really ship anyone in particular.

I think more and more, though, that I need to write a book like Butcher writes rather than the literary stuff I do because honestly, the other stuff is way more fun.

I love Thomas so much. I desperately need to track down a copy of Backup, since I don't have it yet, which secures my place as a Very Lame Person. T_T

I just wish I could come up with characters and a plot that would be anywhere near interesting enough to be worth writing a book about. All my ideas hover somewhere in that uncomfortable space between short story and novel, and refuse to develop proper plots. :\

Me too, to be honest. I'm just eternally hopeful I'll figure it out.

And sorry for sort of hanging out in your LJ so much tonight, but with everyone departing for dreamwidth, and everything else ... well, it was like a cozy couch parked in the corner. (But I'll let you get to bed, and me too!) But anytime you want to talk Leverage, I'm your girl. *hugs*

(Oh, Backup was pretty good. Have you also read "The Warrior" - a short story, novella really, in "Mean Streets"? The shorter pieces don't have the depth of the novels, but they do add to the world, and Back-up was all about Thomas!)

Admittedly, I'm planning to move to Dreamwidth, too, but I'll be crossposting and with so many communities that I'm so attached to still being over here, I'll continue to be around LJ a lot. (I think that's going to be the case with a lot of people, when everything shakes out.)

I haven't read the short stories. T_T I think when I was getting into the Dresden Files I was a bit short on cash, so I just bought the books and skipped the anthologies, but I really should get those... >.>

Oh, I didn't think you were! No worries. And really, you have to get further in the series before Marcone proves how consistently AWESOME he is, so. (Dresden is one of those things that I don't really freak out and OTP over or anything. I could just read the books and be perfectly content; the little bit of Dresden/Marcone fandom that exists is just an extra treat, really. =3 )

I've barely started it, but I'm so in awe of Jim Butcher's ability to start the main plot in like, paragraph TWO and then keep it awesome and suspenseful for the whole book.

I'm totally with you (and WITH you) on the whole Eliot/Hardison thing. They have chemistry, baby! I just want more and more of them, and the fic is (as of yet) hard to find. I will write more - at the moment, I have the piece of one where Eliot ends up in Myanmar (where there's a price on his head) and the team goes in to save him! (Hardison leading the charge, of course.)

I was considering reccing the one in the gay club with the Russians! I did like it, but I felt like it had some pacing problems. Or, maybe not problems... issues? I dunno. :\ I liked it, but I wished the plot had been beefed up a bit more. WELL worth a read, though, I agree. Because... Gay club! Russians! Eliot and Hardison! \0/!

The thing I like about the gay club one is that, for the most part, Hardison and Eliot's voices ring really true.

Hey, does it bother you that Hardison automatically turned into Alec in fandom, though Nate only calls him that once during the entire season!?

That is true. The characterization was quite good. I just felt like there was a chunk of plot missing from the center somewhere. :\ Eh. It may be that I need to go back and re-read again. (The fic will always hold a special place in my heart just for the club dancing, though, because that's always one of my favorite scenes to imagine for any ship of mine. *g*)

GOD YES! THANK YOU!!!! *clings* What's with that?? I don't get it! He's Hardison! EVERYONE calls him that, ALL the time! It's not even just a mission thing. Eliot is Eliot, Parker is Parker, Hardison is Hardison! I can see it being an intimacy thing, that once a relationship is established, the whole first-name thing may come into play, but in pre-slash? Actually, I don't even care so much when the characters use it; I hate when the narrator uses it, and moreso in fics that are other-character centric. I can see Hardison thinking of himself as "Alec", but Eliot thinking of him as "Alec" all the time is a much harder sell. :\

SUCH chemistry! I mean, come on, people! I shipped it from like, the first ten minutes of The Nigerian Job and I've kept right on keepin' on. <333 The LOOKS! The threats of painful death! (We all know threats of painful death mean True Love.) Now, I know that everyone on Leverage is sleeping with everyone else, which is a massive part of why the show is So. Damn. Shiny. But the whole Nate/Eliot thing? I just... really? o_0 Because aside from that whole pool table discussion and that Eliot would really prefer that Nate not drink himself (and all of them, as a result) into oblivion... I suppose there was the moment with the beer, but... Hardison! Your icon alone should be enough to convince people that there is a ship here! \0/ *flails*

*ahem* Leverage might possibly be my new obsession and I might possibly be really happy to have people to babble about it with. >.>;;;

YES!! I don't get the Nate/Eliot thing either, and I'm usually good at appreciating other people's ships, or at least seeing the seeds of them. I'll give them the pool table scene, but honestly, there are so many Hardison/Eliot moments. They fight! They sass one another. They argue like married folks. It's ridiculously fun. Eliot's super-touchy. He puts up with Hardison's weird tech ideas and his painting and Hardison is teaching him how to use Photoshop! Come on, people - it's ridiculously easy to ship these two.

(And honestly, when I saw it, I watched all 11 episodes that were out in about 2 days, then made another friend watch the same 11 episodes with me a few days later. I hear ya.)

Yes! Exactly! Looking at the ships comparatively, in terms of what we have in canon, I pretty much don't get why we don't already have a massive party going on in the Eliot/Hardison wing of the fandom.

(And how much do I LOVE the Photoshop??? Plus, okay, not-so-dirty little not-so-secret: I really, really, really need good fic in which Eliot starts teaching Hardison hand-to-hand combat and then they end up having hot, sweaty sex on the gym mats. <3 I will have it, even if I end up having to write it myself. *is determined*)

yay! parker/hardison and ot3!! XD Parker/Hardison is my otp of the show, but yeah I do love eliot/hardison as my slash-go-to pairing... And lately I like to find the perfect ot3s in series... And after Parker was tripping off the anti-depresent drugs and grabbed both Hardison and Eliot at the end, it dawned on me they'd be a fun threesome. =D So thank you for these two recs too!
