on 2008-12-13 11:21 pm (UTC)I may even have accomodations, but I'll have to check on that (I have an uncle that lives down there who invited me to crash with him if I was ever in town, but I'll have to see if that could work out). If that doesn't work, does somebody have a couch or floor I could possibly crash on for a night?

on 2008-12-14 08:48 am (UTC)It'll probably be best if we pick a place walking distance from the train station for the meet. Some type of restaurant, bar, or shopping mall. Unfortunately, I don't know what's down there. I'm probably going to be staying at a friend's place (if he'll let me) if not I'll probably only make it down for the day. Classes means little time for working and my bank account would probably shoot me if I paid for a hotel room.

on 2008-12-14 04:31 pm (UTC)If it comes down to it, I wouldn't object to splitting a hotel room for a night, if a cheap one could be located, but hopefully both of our free accomodations will work out. ^^ I just need to know when we want to schedule this thing so I can call my uncle and see if he'd be okay with it.
...I wonder if I should invite
Cheap is definitely the name of the game here, but for me, really, I have to spend the night while I'm down there. The trip is just waaaaaaay long for only an afternoon visit and then turning around and hopping back on the train.
Blaaaaah. It can all be worked out! ^_^ We really need to start with when we want to do this; then all the logistics can come from that.

on 2008-12-15 03:07 am (UTC)As for a when, I guess it matters more if we're trying for a spontaneous meet-up where whoever can show up will, or a longer planned one in the hopes that more people can come. I wouldn't be opposed to trying for sometime over the winter break but I know a lot of people already have plans for that with families. We might do better sometime mid-February after everyone's settled back into routine.

on 2008-12-15 04:03 am (UTC)I will have to be sure to tell her that this is in the works, then... *makes notes* Once we have the US comm, I think it'll be easier to get the word out about this, but we should pick the date first. Trying to pick a date for a meetup by having everyone vote on it is just completely insane. @_@ *speaks from long experience*
